KAWAI USB-MIDI
DEVICE DRIVER INSTALL


This is how to install KAWAI USB-MIDI driver.

for WindowsVista
for WindowsXP
for Windows2000
for Windows98SE

※After driver installation, please select
 [KAWAI USB MIDI IN]、or [KAWAI USB MIDI OUT] in your application software.

※Not supported under 64-bit WindowsXP or Vista



for WindowsVista

1.Do not connect the USB cable yet.

2.Installing the Driver files.

    ●Open the extracted folder named 'KAWAI-USB-MIDI'.

  


    ●Right-click [setup] file in [KAWAI-USB-MIDI] folder and click [Properties].

  


    ●Click [Compatibility] tab when [setup Propaties] dialog is displayed.

  


    ●Click [Run this program in compatibility mode for.].

     Verify the selected list named 'Windows XP (Service Pack 2)' and click [OK].
     ※If not, select 'Windows XP (Service Pack 2)' by click.


  


    ●Right-click [setup] file in [KAWAI-USB-MIDI] folder and click [Run as administrator].

     ※If computer prompts you for an administrator password or for a confirmation,
      type the password, or click [Continue].

  


    ●Click [Allow] when [User Account Control] dialog is displayed.
     [SETUP MIDI DRIVER]-[Install USB Driver] will be displayed.

  


    ●Click [Yes]. Click [Install this driver software anyway] when [Windows Security] dialog is displayed.


  


    ●After a short time, [SETUP MIDI DRIVER]-[SETUP Completed] will be displayed.
     Click [OK].

  



3.Turn the power on for the digital piano and connect to computer with a USB cable.

    ●When you connect to computer with a USB cable, the following message appears.
     It is necessary to update the driver.


  


4.Launching the Device Manager.

    ●Click the start button at the lower-left corner of the desktop. Click [Control Panel] afer menu is displayed.

  


    ●Click [Classic View] when [Control Panel] window is displayed.

  


    ●Double-click [Device Manager].
     Click [Continue] when [User Account Control] dialog is displayed.

 


    ●[Device Manager] window will be displayed.
     [USB-MIDI] will be displayed under [Sound, video and game controllers].

  


5.Updating driver software.

    ●Right-click [USB-MIDI], and click [Update Driver Software...] when menu is displayed.

  


    ●Click [Browse my computer for driver software].

  


    ●Click [Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer].

  


    ●Click [KAWAI USB MIDI].


  


    ●Click [Next] when [KAWAI USB MIDI] is displayed inverted.

  


    ●Click [Close] to exit Devie Driver install.
     

  


    ●Click [YES] to restart your computer.

  






for WindowsXP

In the case that the standard USB driver(USB audio device) does not work by anything cause, please install the KAWAI USB-MIDI driver.
*note: Usually,there is not the necessity.



1.Do not connect the USB cable yet.

2.Double click [setup.exe] in KAWAI-USB-MIDI folder.

●Click "Yes" when the dialog below is displayed.

  


●If the dialog below is displayed, click "ContinueAnyway" to continue the installation.

  


●Click "OK" to finish when the dialog below is displayed.

  


3.Turn the power on for the digital piano and connect to the computer with the USB cable.

●Because the standard USB driver (USB audio device) have priority in installation, please exchange the driver with the follow procedure to complete the installation of the KAWAI USB-MIDI driver.


4.Start the Device Manager.

●Click "Start" and Select "Control Panel" in the menu.

  


●Click "Switch to Classic View" when the "Pick a category"menu is displayed.

  


●Click the icon of "System".

  


●The dialog of "System Properties" is displayed. Click "Hardware" tub and click "Device Manager".

  


●"Device Manager" is started. Dubble click "Sound, video and game controllers".

  


5.Exchange the driver.

●Right click "USB Audio Device" and select "Update Driver..."

  


●"Hardware Update Wizard" is started. If the following is appeared, select "No,not this time" and click "Next".

  


●Select "Install from a list or specific location(Advanced)" and click "Next".

  


●Select "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install." and click "Next".

  


●Select "KAWAI USB MIDI" and click "Next".

  


●Click “Continue Anyway” to continue the installation if the following is appeared.

  

      


●Click“Complete”to finish the wizard. Installation of the device driver is completed.

  


●Restart the computer.

  






for Windows2000

1.Do not connect the USB cable yet.




2.Double click [setup.exe] in KAWAI-USB-MIDI folder.

    ●Click “Yes” when the dialog below is displayed.

  


    ●The dialog below is displayed. Click “Yes” to continue the installation.


  


    ●Click “OK” to finish when the dialog below is displayed.

  


3.Turn the power on for the digital piano and connect to the computer with the USB cable.


    ●“Found New Hardware ” below is displayed.

    

      Click “Yes” to continue the installation.


  


    ●Click “Complete” to finish the wizard. Installation of the device driver is completed.


  


    ●Restart the computer.


  










for Windows98SE

1.Do not connect the USB cable yet.

2.Double click [setup.exe] in [KAWAI-USB-MIDI] folder.

    ●Click [YES] when the dialog below is displayed.

  


    ●Click [OK] to finish when the dialog below is displayed.

  


Turn the power on for the digital piano and connect to the computer with the USB cable.

    ●When [new hardware addition wizard] is displayed, click [Next] to finish the wizard.

    ●Installation of the device driver is completed.
