Dual and 4-Hands Modes
All CN series instruments have a Dual Mode in which two sounds are played at the same time. The unique 4-Hands Mode splits the keyboard into two identical 44-note pianos – great for group piano lessons or for duets.

Split Mode
The CN42 also offers a Split mode in which one sound plays on the left of the keyboard and another sound plays on the right side.

Balance Slider
The CN42 has a unique Balance Slider, right on the panel. Use the slider to control the volume balance between two sounds in both Dual and Split keyboard modes.

Sliding Key Cover
All Kawai CN models have built-in sliding key covers to protect the keyboard from dust and debris when the instrument is not in use.

Pedals
All CN models have three pedals – soft, sostenuto, and damper (with half-damper capability) – that function just like the pedals found on our grand pianos.

Metronome
All three CN models offer a handy built-in digital metronome with a variety of time signatures and adjustable tempo… perfect for practice. The CN42 can also control the volume of the metronome.

Drum Rhythms
The CN42’s metronome also features 100 built-in drum rhythms in a variety of musical styles. Tempo and volume of the drum beats can also be controlled.

Alfred Lesson Songs

Recorder
The CN42 features an easy to use 2-Track / 3-Song recorder that is ideal for self evaluation or capturing a moment of inspiration.

USB to Device
The CN42’s USB to Device capability allows for the storage of performances to USB memory devices. You can even play and record Standard MIDI Files (SMF) with the powerful 16-track USB recorder.

Jacks
All CN models come with MIDI jacks useful for connecting with other musical instruments and computers. The CN42 also features stereo Line In and Line Out jacks, plus a USB jack and two headphone jacks.
