Kawai Artist Awarded for Charity Work

Rancho Dominguez, CA • November, 2010 – World famous singer/songwriter and Kawai artist Neil Sedaka was recently given the Silver Heart Award by the Variety Club Children’s Charity. Supported in large part by high profile celebrities, the Variety Club is dedicated to improving the lives of children in the U.K. by raising funds for projects and organizations that care for children in need.

An announcement from the club states “The Variety Club is proud to bestow our highest accolade, The Silver Heart Award, upon the legendary world-wide singer/songwriter, Neil Sedaka, for his outstanding services to the music industry and his charitable work.” The award was presented at the annual Variety Club Award Dinner, held this year in Manchester, England.

Starting with his first big hit, a song written for Connie Francis in 1960, Neil Sedaka has enjoyed an influential singing and song writing career spanning five decades, producing such memorable hits as “Breaking Up is Hard to Do” and “Laughter in the Rain”. Even today, Mr. Sedaka maintains an extensive recording and touring schedule.
