George Enescu Piano Competition - Bucharest

Contestants were quick to praise the Shigeru Kawai pianos used in performance, particularly noting the control and speed of response that the pianos allowed. This outstanding responsiveness is a result of the remarkable Millennium III Action, which has garnered considerable accolades since its introduction.

The final round took place with full orchestra in the beautiful Bucharest Concert Hall. Winners were: 1st prize: Tebenikhin Amir (Kazakhstan); 2nd prize: Khachikyan Violetta (Russia); and 3rd prize: An Jong Do (South Korea). Shigeru Kawai is proud to have been chosen to help make the competition the brilliant success it was, both for the young performers and for the advancement of Romanian music culture.
